The Four Horsewomen of Scandinavian wrestling

The Four Horsewomen of Scandinavian wrestling.

As professional wrestling is still somewhat of a young industry in Scandinavia the different nations find themselves needing to share wrestlers. And it becomes much more of a need when it comes to female wrestlers. Of course, there have been female Scandinavian wrestlers to take not of such as Jenny Sjödin. On the Danish side of things, I've always felt that it lacked in the female department. Luckily, I can then look to the Swedish neighbors to see four women that are what I, for lack of a better term, would refer to as the Four Horsewomen of Scandinavian wrestling.
Consider this an introduction to the four and where to find them.

Betty Rose

When "The Pinup Punisher" Betty Rose comes to the ring, smiling ear-to-ear, enthusiastically waving to the crowd and in general coming in with a happy-go-lucky attitude. One cannot help but be infected with the positive attitude that she brings with her. As the nickname suggests it all turns serious once the bell rings and it is time to compete, Betty is not afraid to get her hands dirty and dish out some brutality if the match calls for it. If the opponent does take her lightly they might quickly find themselves on the receiving end of her Betty Buster.

vs. Marcus Of Man (STHLM There Will Be Blood 8)

vs. Sixt (BODYSLAM! SkråenSlam 2019 )

Aliss Ink

One look at Aliss Ink tells you all about how legit she is. With a background in Jiu-Jitsu, karate, kickboxing and boxing it is hard to see how Aliss Ink is not on the forefront of every wrestling promoters mind. When she comes to the ring she is all business, and with a move set greatly inspired by her martial arts background she makes good on that all business attitude. Man or woman, it doesn't matter to Aliss Ink, who is more than willing to beat down anyone daring enough to step in the ring with her.

Notable matches:

vs. Marcus Of Man (BODYSLAM! Slam Sermon)

vs. Sixt (STHLM It's A Mans World)

vs. Sixt vs. Aya Frick vs. Solo Darling (SWS 10 Year Anniversary)

Aya Frick

When you hear the nickname "The Sadistic Succubus", it tells you all that you need to know about Aya Frick. Using her feminine charms on men and women alike, Aya manages to unsettle both opponent and audience member with some of her antics in the ring. As brutal as she is seductive, you can usually find Aya opposing someone like the always positive Betty Rose, or the serious martial artist Aliss Ink. The Sadistic Succubus is more than able to hold her own against those two, although she might make use of some unethical means to get the job done.

Notable matches:

vs. Betty Rose (BODYSLAM! The Snapmare Before Christmas)

with Sixt vs. Betty Rose & Aliss Ink (GBG Love it Loud)

vs. Sixt (STHLM Valhalla Nordic Wrestling Championship 2)

Sixt

Sixt is everything you want in a bad ass female wrestler. She's big and she's mean. She comes to the ring like she owns it and more than earns her nickname "The Northern Amazon". When you put her in the ring with a positive and giggly babyface like Betty Rose she comes across like one of the meanest wrestlers there is, and she seems to take pleasure in inflicting pain on her opponents. Sixt is experienced in high profile matches against worldwide recognized opponents. It won't be long until Sixt herself is recognized as such a wrestler, one that is brought in to fight the local hero.

Notable matches:

vs. Lexa Valo (SLAM PowerSLAM In Põltsamaa)

vs. Yuu (BODYSLAM! Ritual)

vs. Amarah (BODYSLAM! WrestleFest 2)

Conclusion

While the four of them combined are great, combined they each manage to represent something different in wrestling. Betty Rose as the happy-go-lucky spirited babyface where the crowd cheers her as she brings the fun. Aliss Ink as the serious bad ass babyface that the crowd cheers as she is amazing to watch. Aya Frick as the dastardly heel that has fun doing despicable thins, and Sixt as the brutal heel taking pleasure in destroying her opponents.

Four individually strong female wrestlers that together represent what Scandinavian women's wrestling could become if given some love. These are four wrestlers that I, as a fellow Scandinavian, would be proud to send out to any wrestling promotion to represent my region.

Determination, thy name is Ender Kara

credit: Johan Falkenström Determination, thy name is Ender Kara I was late to the party and I fully admit that. I had not heard of Ender Kara until early 2020. And that was despite of Ender living in my neighboring country of Sweden, coming over to Denmark often to wrestle before Covid-19 shut all of that down. Looking back it feels like I must have lived under a rock when you've got a talent like Ender Kara succeeding in your country while you have no idea. But then I learned and I have been keeping my eyes on him ever since, because I can feel that he is going to become something special in time. I don't know when, which year will be his breakout year  or in which promotion or region of the world. I just know that sometime in the future Ender Kara will find success, he is just that much of a hard worker. From apostle to apostate: The story of Emeritus

From apostle to apostate: The story of Emeritus The stage is set for 2021. BODYSLAM! champion, Peter Olisander has to face perhaps the greatest challenger of his reign as BODYSLAM! champion as his former apostle, Emeritus looks at him with fire in his eyes. But how did it come to this? How did Emeritus go from being a devout follower of Peter Olisander and his Truth Movement, and to be an unbeliever looking to claim the BODYSLAM! championship for himself?   credit: Hans Kristian Hannibal-Bach The Truth Movement August 22nd, 2015. The first show from BODYSLAM! Pro Wrestling is held. BODYSLAM! 1: Fynne vs. Tank. On this show Emeritus Midnight makes his pro wrestling debut defeating Killer Karlson. Besides his valet, Hailey, Emeritus seems to be a quite lonely soul. Satisfied with residing in dark and gloomy places lit up by candles, the darker it is the more at home Emeritus seems to feel. Almost a year later, on December 17th, 2016, Peter Olisander makes his debut on ...
